Estimated Timelines

It is important to remember every project is different and will have varying timelines.

However, this general timeline can give you a rough idea of what to expect.

 

1. ESTIMATE: Once you set up your free in-home estimate with our designer, it will take approximately 5 days for them to create renderings of your completed project and estimate costs. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. ORDERING: We use high-quality, custom cabinetry.  Because of this, typical production will take 6-8 weeks from order placement to delivery. 

3. DEMO: Demolition typically takes 1-2 days.  This includes removal of old cabinetry, counter tops, bathtubs, soffits, etc. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. FRAMING: Any necessary framing or drywall to be done can add 3-4 days.

5. ELECTRICAL/PLUMBING:  If your project includes electrical or plumbing work, this will be discussed before the project is started.  There can always be surprises behind the walls!  This can add unforeseen work but we will do our best to take care of any surprise issues as quickly as possible.

6. TILE: Custom tile projects can take 7-10 business days, depending on the scope of your project.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. INSTALLATION: Cabinetry installation usually takes 2-3 days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

8. COUNTERTOPS: If counter tops are being upgraded, the company will come out once the cabinets are installed to template.  Then granite fabrication takes about 7-10 business days.

9. RECONNECT: Reconnection of the plumbing to sinks needs to be done at least 24 hours after the counter tops are installed.

Preparing For Your Project

At the Cabinet & Remodeling Store, we focus on the end result.  Our goal is to finish your project giving you the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, or home office (or anything else!) of your dreams.

 

Hopefully, these tips and timeline can help you prepare for what is involved with a kitchen or bathroom remodel with The Cabinet & Remodeling Store.

 

  • As this IS construction, remodels are guaranteed to have a few surprises, so budget more than enough time and energy to make the endeavor a success.  Plan to be without your kitchen or bath for a few weeks before you'll be able to enjoy your new renovation.

  • Sort through your kitchen or bathroom, beginning about a week before the remodel is scheduled to start.  Throw or give away items you don't use.  Then pack your lesser-used items in boxes or plastic bins.  By the time the big day arrives, you should be down to the bare minimum of supplies, which you can transfer to where you'll set up your temporary kitchen or bathroom.

  • Take down wall hangings, curtains, blinds, shelves, light fixtures and anything else that isn't a permanent fixture.  Remove any artwork, shelves, etc. from nearby and ajacent walls too as vibrations might cause these to fall or break.

  • Cover furniture and other large items near the kitchen or bath with a plastic drop cloth or old sheet secured with painter's tape.  This will protect your furniture and simplify the cleaning process once the construction is finished.

  • Keep some restaurant coupons handy or use the renovation as an excuse to fire up the grill!
